TÜV stands for Technischer Überwachungsverein (Technical Inspection Association). GS is an acronym for Geprüfte Sicherheit (which means “tested for safety” or “certified for safety”).
TÜV/GS is a voluntary certification and the TÜV/GS safety certificate means that the product has been tested for electrical safety, components containing hazardous substances and unnecessary noise production.
In addition, the production facility has undergone an annual inspection.
The tests are carried out in registered laboratories, all of which meet the same regulatory standards. The certification shows that the manufacturer is committed to producing quality products with consistent specifications.
